Motion Picture Association of America
I commend the effort, in your anti-piracy commercials, to alert the American public to the possible loss of American film production jobs due to piracy.
I urge you to encourage your members to help protect even more American film production jobs by starting to voluntarily comply with the Federal Trade Commission's Made in USA Standard. Thereby enabling concerned citizens to make informed choices when spending their entertainment dollars in support of the American film industry.
As a consumer who spends thousands of dollars per year on your members products, I am going to start looking for a “Made in USA” mark in all advertisement and packaging and I am going to encourage all Americans who are concerned about the outsourcing of American jobs to do the same.
I have not and will not spend a nickel on “Cold Mountain” for instance.
Projects like this take over $10 billion a year out of the US economy and can't even claim that they benefit American consumers through lower prices at the box office or in retail stores.
Thanks again for your concern for American film production job preservation.
Keep up the good work.
